Chairs and Footstools
Either built from new or your existing one recovered

Your favourite chair can 'always' be your favourite chair!

Along with suites and sofas, we both manufacture and re-upholster / re-cover chairs and footstools.   People usually get a matching footstool made when they are getting their suite re-covered by us, and we can produce them in a range of shapes and styles.

Your chair, however, is a ‘different kettle of fish’.   This could have been your grandparents armchair, it could be the chair that sat in your mums hallway for years, it could be the one you sat in as a child.   If it’s good quality, it’s worth looking after, so it will continue providing both memories and comfort for many years to come.

Chairs

Reupholstering a chair can breathe new life into an existing piece of furniture, offering a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to purchasing a brand-new chair. The benefits of getting a chair reupholstered extend beyond mere aesthetics, encompassing aspects of customization, sustainability, and overall functionality:

Renewal of use: Reupholstering a chair is a great alternative to throwing it out, particularly if the chair has a sturdy frame and good structural integrity. The process involves updating the fabric and padding while retaining the original frame, ensuring it will be used for many years to come.

Plenty of Customisation Options: One of the main advantages of chair reupholstery is the opportunity for customisation.   People can choose from a wide array of fabrics, colors, and patterns, allowing them to match the chair to their current decor or create a unique statement piece. This level of personalisation ensures that the chair aligns perfectly with the individual’s style and preferences.

Preservation of Sentimental Value: As we said before, chairs often carry sentimental value, especially if they have been passed down through generations or hold memories associated with them. Reupholstering allows individuals to preserve the essence of the chair while updating its appearance, maintaining the sentimental connection with a piece of furniture that may have emotional significance.

Footstools

A footstool, in different styles, can also be known as an ottoman or pouf, is a versatile and functional piece of furniture that offers several benefits in various settings.

Enhanced Comfort: The primary function of a footstool is to provide a comfortable and supportive surface for resting the feet. Whether used with a sofa, armchair, or as a standalone piece, a footstool helps to reduce pressure on the legs and feet, promoting relaxation and comfort.

Improved Posture: Elevating the feet with a footstool can contribute to improved posture, especially when sitting for extended periods. By allowing the feet to be slightly raised, a footstool helps align the spine and reduces strain on the lower back, promoting a more ergonomic sitting position.

Versatility in Seating Arrangements: Footstools can also be used as that extra seat, or if covered with glass, can make a nice coffee table in the large ottoman style.   They can serve as an extension of a sofa, or even as a makeshift side table when paired with a tray, if you really just want somewhere to put down your cup of tea. This versatility makes footstools a practical addition to any living space.

When getting your furniture re-covered or re-upholstered, ask about adding a footstool or ottoman as an optional extra.
